I am trying to run FTB as a Jar file, but all that comes up is a command prompt for a split second and then its gone. I don't know what to do, I checked multiple websites and I have Java installed. Do I need another kind of Java?
If the Java instance is giving you problems download the exe version and try again. Also more info could be used. What version of Java, what OS and such.
I would try the EXE version of the launcher than. It's what I use with no problems. I would say maybe it has something to do with needing to run as administrator or something like that. Give the exe file a try should work fine that way.
I've also got another solution, but it's a bit complicated so I'll wait till you've tried the exe. Next time you have an issue though you should try using the support section, many answers can be found there and people with the knowledge and willingness to help will be able to do that easier over there.
