Can someone please post a guide on how to add Extra Utilities into Ultimate without the game crashing on start.

Ultimate uses MC 1.4.7. Extra Utilities is only available for MC 1.5 & 1.6.

So you're going to need to move to a newer version of Minecraft to use the extra utilities mod.

Damn it, I was going to say that! Let me go first next time! :p

You can probably upgrade your Ultimate into the next main 1.6 modpack, assuming you add gregtech and project red (assuming that isn't included).

Don't give the guy false hope. Even the highly skilled individuals in the modded Minecraft scene would find it nigh impossible to do a highly modded 1.4.7 to 1.6.4 "upgrade". There's just too much that has changed. Discounting item and block ID conflicts (which is actually many hours of config changes), there's been big changes to things behind the scenes with Forge. And even if there are similar mods available, there's zero guarantee they handle the NBT data in all the pre-existing tile entities the same, so those would not be able to survive the "upgrade". And let's not forget that Xycraft STILL doesn't have an update yet! (Soaryn, stop taunting us with Soon™ T_T)

I want to believe xbony2's comment on upgrade meant moving to 1.6 packs and creating a new world instead of trying to keep the existing world.
