how do i fix this dark shadow bug?

Sometimes shadows appear too dark(mostly under large trees and in caves) and when you get close to them they fix themselves.

How do I fix this bug? Im using FTB ultimate.

what pack should a newbie be using by the way.

Are there any workarounds? how do I make em look less ugly.

Is this bug only for minecraft 1.4.7 or every version? I'll just use some other pack if it dosent have this bug, It looks really bad.

Every version, and nothing can be done about it until Mojang rewrites their lighting engine correctly.

ignore it/ break and place a block at the edge of it to delete it.

That does work, at least it fixes when you do that.

You can just right click a badly shaded block to force a lighting update.

I'm sure they rewrote it or fixed it or something in 1.6+?

They fixed it in one of the latest snapshots, if I remember correctly.

They rewrote it and made it worse in 1.6. If it's fixed in a snapshot, I have no idea.

Made it worse? I doubt that...I haven't experienced any bad dark spot glitches.

I fixed a long standing bug today. Lighting issues in world generation. Bye bye black patches.
