Just curious on how to make iridium, most of the youtube vids i've seen are out dated on what I need
I'm using TechWorld2 Modpack as of now.
I've heard that you need a Replicator, Mass Fab, Scanner, Pattern Storage... Is this ture? That is an awful lot and very expensive if so... but possible
Also, is it true that you need a peice of Iridium before you can even start working, where do I find some?

Last time I used IC2 (the 1.5.2 packs?), I tended to find as much as chest loot as I did caving. I'd check your COFH configs to see where it is supposed to spawn.
Okay, also, I'm using 1.5.2 I think, and this may sound nooby but what is COFH?

It's the base mod for Thermal Expansion, which FTB uses to control oregen. It should be in the modpacks config folder. Either in it's own separate folder or a file usually called COFH something.

Typically, iridium ore only exists as chest loot. GregTech and maybe some other mods can add it (or some equivalent) as an ore.
You need to find one piece of ore and place that in a Scanner. When scanning is complete you can save the "pattern" to a crystal memory. You then import the pattern from that crystal memory to the Pattern Storage. Next to the pattern storage, you place the Replicator which then can see all patterns stored in the pattern storage. The replicator needs uu-matter which is a fluid you get from the Mass Fabricator (only needs power to operate, but scrap helps a lot).

Getting everything up and running is usually a fairly late-game thing, but not that difficult or expensive. The challenge is certainly dwarfed when compared to that of finding up-to-date documentation. :)

I think in 1.5.2 UU was still an item & marginally easier to get, & the ore was extremely rare (1/chunk? 1/handful of chunks?) but existed without GregTech, but it was definitely easier to find as loot.
