How do I change the default backpack config?

I checked the backpacks.conf file, and it seems like you can only ADD more items to it, not remove any of the default ones.

How do I remove default items from the backpack configs?
(For example, I want to remove all pulverized ores from the Miner's backpack config)

remove the id's from backpacks.miner.items=

I'll dig through the configs one more time, looks like I might have missed that somewhere.
