Title says it all, really. I know about Thaumcraft, but what about the others, like Arcane Scrolls, Blood Magic, Mystcraft, and Ars Magica 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Warning: There will be shameless plugs in this post.

Arcane Scrolls is super easy. The Wiki article explains the energy mechanic quite extensively. Basically, all you need to start are quills, scrolls, the Arcane Tome, some Arcane Stones, and an Arcane Pouch. The Arcane Tome is pretty self-explanatory.
Not sure about Blood Magic or Mystcraft.
I'm alright at Ars Magica 2. Basically, you want a Nexus, and that weird book thingy that explains everything.
There's also Witchery, which you didn't mention. Magic World 2 is 1.6.4, so every Witchery item/structure/mob/ritual/whatever is explained on the wiki. 1.7.x info is still in progress.

If you want any info on specifics about Witchery or Arcane Scrolls, just tell me.

Ars Magica you need to get started by placing a book into an item frame next to a pool of essence (That light blue liquid you find in pools). Wait for the pretty light show to finish and the book should turn into an Arcane Compendium, which is kind of like the Thaumonomicon in that it provides you with all the information you need. Main difference is that Ars Magica stuff unlocks as you level up (as a result of casting spells) rather than via a research mechanic.

Next step is to make an inscription table and an oculus (recipes are in NEI). The Oculus can be used to spend your initial skill points and the inscription table can be used to create spell recipes which can be made into spells at a crafting altar. Not sure when the information on how to build it appears in the compendium, but I think it may require you to make a spell recipe first. Don't worry about using top-tier materials to craft it, as you can always replace the materials later with better ones.

Once you have your first spell, start using it to level up in Ars Magica and unlock new things to play with! :) I personally like using a touch dig spell as my first one (at least on the version of Ars Magica that's in magic world 2, I think a lot has changed in the newest version). Projectile light spells are also handy when you get them
