How can I get an aura node in an area without one?

A few friends and I have been playing on a small server, but we noticed that the area around our house doesn't have a Thaumcraft aura node. We can't grow Silverwood Saplings because they require Vis, and we haven't unlocked the ability to move aura nodes. We are willing to hack to fix the problem. What can we do?

What I did, which was a slow and somewhat annoying process, was a chain of silverwoods, grow a couple where they will grow, give them a chance to generate an aura (I found that 3 will definitely give you an aura that will allow you to grow more), move a bit further and grow a few more, repeat until you have aura where you want it. I did it legitimately but you could cheat in a bunch of saplings\hoes of growth to speed the process up.

If you haven't gotten into Thaumcraft 3 yet, you may be luckier than you think. Unless very well planned and done methodically, ex. Pure Bees, Alembics and maintaining Essences, batteries, shards, etc., Thaumcraft 3 progression usually produces a large amount of flux, which will in turn cause wisps to spawn, which are a pain to deal with, literally. They're fun to chase and swat at first, but get annoying after a few days. It's probably a blessing there is not a node near you base.

Rather, and this is only a suggestion, aka food for thought, but you may want to use this as an opportunity to locate two nodes : 1 for your permanent, long-term Thaumcraft 3 setup where Flux is dealt with properly and another one for bootstrapping yourself to that stage. You can go flux-crazy with the bootstrapper one as long as you don't get killed my wisps, and the best way to deal with that is to find an underground node.

For your permanent location, you will want it above ground where you can grow Silverwood trees close by to increase your node size. And, it should be enclosed since wisps will probably still spawn from time to time, even from a well-managed node.

Or, you can skip the boot-strapper one, enclose a pure node above ground, and be prepared to deal with wisps and other negative effects while you work on the improvements to clean-up and manage flux.

Isn't there a config option for resetting node generations?
If that's relevant to the problem, that is.
