Else, use the energy cell to power magma crucibles to create lava (feed them netherrack if you have a ton, or cobble from some igneous extruders) and use the lava to power IC2 geothermal generators.
Not exactly efficient I don't think, but it works.

and yes, if you are running ultimate you can use powerconverters
