Hoster Permissions

I recently requested my server host to run FTB. I was responded with this

"We are currently waiting for permission from the mod creator, Currently we are not allowed to and the same goes for most hosts."

Now I am wondering if they actually do need permission from the FTB team and if so, how they can get it.
Also, if anyone could point me to a host that does have permission that would be a real help.

I dont think that you need permission to "run a FTB server". I can ask on higher ranks and see what the word is there, but i am 99% sure the host wont need permission to install you a FTB server side.

Some hosts setup 1 click servers, where you pick what server version and mod pack you would like to run and they set it up. I'm assuming that's what they'd need permissions for, to include FTB. however most hosts also give you ftp access where you can upload your own server.jar and mods.

True since with the 1 click install they are actually distributing it in a way. Il see what i can dig up later today.

I just changed to a vanilla profile and FTP-ed up all the mods and the new jar, renamed the old and new jars and it worked.
