Problem Hosted Server ist hanging up when somebody joins

Hi,
have a problem with my FTB Server.
I've a rented MC Server from Gamerzhost with an I7 2600 and 32 GB
GB of RAM with FTP access (I can use max 2 GB for the MC Server).
By default McMyAdmin is installed to configurate the Server.
I installed the newes FTB Server and it's running fine with steady 1200/2000 MB RAM and below 5% CPU ussage as long as
nobody joins.
When I connect to the server it takes around 10 secs until it crashes with 95%+ CPU ussage, RAM stays constant at 1200 MB.
An error log is not written.

I'm using MCPC+ 646 (1.5.2) by renaming it to Forgemod.jar or CraftBukkit.jar or FTB-BETA-A.jar
with the corresponding server type settings in McMYAdmin.
The outcome is the same like written above. The Server starts proberly but you can't play.


Here is my server log- saying:

Whats your permgen set too? The default permgen is usually not enough. It would be in your startup script.

You need to allocate more PermGen space to your Minecraft server. I have no idea how to do this with MCMyAdmin, ordinarily you just add "-XX:permSize=128M" to your startup script. I recommend opening a support ticket with Gamerzhost, they will probably be experts at configuring MCMyAdmin.

Remove the spaces (damn smiley):

The problem is I have this much permgen space, and on first worldgeneration, it crashes around 30%:

Do you mind showing us your server start-up script? How much PermGen space do you currently have allocated?

128 megabyte, as proposed:
java -Xmx2G -jar mcpc-plus-1.6.2-R1.1-forge871-B97.jar -XX: PermSize=128m

The problem is that you were sending the permsize setting to Minecraft instead of Java, due to the order of your arguments. Therefore Java is still using the default perm size of 56MB.

The order of the arguments is important, anything before "*.jar" is a Java option, any arguments after "*.jar" are sent to the Minecraft process as command line arguments. So the correct startup script would be:

Notice that there is no space between -XX: and PermSize. Also notice that I added "nogui" to demonstrate that anything AFTER the .jar is sent to Minecraft itself as a command line argument. Unless you are actually using the server GUI, it is recommended to include nogui.

Yeah you do not want any JVM arguments after the -jar.

Side note if you want allocate 256mb to permgen and never have to worry again.

That command line came from my hosting, not from me - I forward him this correction. :p
The space inside were there because of the smiley - observe: -XX:perm ;)
