I'm getting block lag to to extent where the game is unplayable right now, with delays on over 1 minute between placing blocks. Delay is intermittent, as sometimes it runs somewhat smoothly however most of the time the delay is significant enough to annoy me.

I've searched the net far and wide for a solution to no avail. My speedtest with the server location I'm trying to connect to seems sufficiently fast enough:

I've increased my RAM to 3.50gb in the FTB launcher, checked to see if I'm using java-64 and checked my java is completely up to date. I'm also running soartex texture pack with the game, but the lag is still similar when using the vanilla textures.

If there's any information I need to provide to further assist me, let me know. I have no idea what the source of this issue is, so I don't know what to provide.[DOUBLEPOST=1364171891][/DOUBLEPOST]It's also worth noting that no other people on my server experience this lag, and I live pretty close.

I assume that if you're talking about internet speeds, you're trying to play on a server. There are several reasons for this happening. The first of which is that your internet isn't fast enough to work. Mine is a bit less than that and I'm fine most of the time playing on servers (and I share my internet with 3 others in my house), so that's most likely not the problem.
The second is that the server is physically not capable of running a server, generally caused by a small amount of RAM, or RAM being taken by other programs. I don't think this is really likely either.
The third is that the server's internet connection is not fast enough to be able to host a server on it, which given the circumstances, I think this is most likely.

If the server crashes regularly, it may be because of the second reason.

Well, for most (and I mean everyone except me) their connections are fine. In fact, a person from Austria connecting to the server in Sydney isn't experiencing any block lag compared to what I'm getting (and I'm living in Australia). I'm suspecting a bad version for a mod in the pack that's causing the lag, but I don't know where to look/how to check for this.

You can't have any mods that are different version to the ones on the server, you wouldn't be allowed to connect. The only thing that can be different are client-side only mods (and server-side, but they'll affect everyone on the server if it's happening). Have you added any extra mods in or changed any mods?
