Horizons FTB, unable to make bronze

To make bronze, you must have 3 copper and 1 tin in this arrangement.
C - C - 0
C - T - 0
0 - 0 - 0

This doesn't work at all, for me. I was thinking perhaps I needed something other than a crafting table, but I can't find anything online.

I've had difficulties making some other things, as well, but I don't remember what.

I think that's an IC2 thing. Without IC2, you have to smelt it. TE, for example, requires the induction furnace to create alloys.

I am not sure what's in horizons, but this is something to consider.

Thats the bronze recipe from Forestry.
IC2 uses the dusts.

You can also create it using pulverised/dust versions and TE3

Or use the Tinkers Construct Smeltery to make it with 3 parts copper to 1 part tin, works on nuggets, ores, ingots, dusts, and storage blocks.
