Crashlog:
http://pastebin.com/S7xCgtb6

I have artifice scaffolding as part of the walls of my above-ground installation(s). I can go in and delete/replace all of it with MCEdit but am wondering if there might not be something simpler/easier to try?

UPDATE: Rolling Artifice back to 1.1.3-185 worked for now.

Yes. Same world.
It was suggested by members of the mod pack team to reset worlds when using this update. It's likely this could have been one of the reasons.

Can you replicate this issue in a new world using the stock 1.0.9 version of the pack?

I don't know how I would do that short of attempting to rebuild exactly the same world by hand. It is 3 layers of dirt, 3 layers of wooden scaffold, then a a parapet of cherry wood slabs inside and out, nothing out of the ordinary there.

I don't need the new version of Artifice enough to want a new world. Matter of fact I don't need it at all, looking at the change log. If there are other specific reasons recommended for starting a new world---that down include railcraft heat blocks---I'd like to know what they are. Is there a post somewhere?

Use creative?

Use creative?

I'm not going to spend a week in creative on a test that would be inconclusive. If I couldn't replicate the problem it wouldn't prove it didn't exist, it would only prove that something between the two versions isn't exactly the same. Since there are so many variables that wouldn't be the same between my upgraded world and my creative partial duplicate we couldn't make any real conclusion.

If I could replicate it then I'm sure there will be plenty of reports from people who can't reload their world after they use Artifice scaffolding in 1.0.9.

I just wanted to confirm that the issue didn't arise because you used an old world with the new mod pack.
I'm not going to try to replicate it, because I don't know exactly what you did.

Since you aren't willing to try that, and have already found a fix, thread locked.
