I'm planning on making a nether lava extractor for thermal generators however I'm not sure of the best way to do it.

Pump + energy tesseract for power, liquid tesseract for transport, & spot loader to keep it going when leave the chunks.

You could also use the Ender Tank over the Liquid Tesseract for a more economical solution.

Depends on what version you're using. In 1.4.7 they cause chunk resets when used with chunk loaders. Tesseracts don't have this issue.

I'm using the latest version of Ultimate pack. Should i use the buildcraft pump or the new advanced pump from ic2?

Depends. If fps lag isn't an issue then a BC pump is better. But if you want to avoid fps lag then use the advanced pump (it eliminates flowing lava blocks, getting rid of most of the related fps lag).

By the way its added by gregtech not IC2 ;)

Just my 2 cents. I would go even more economical with 4 redstone engines and a BC pump. Use either liquiducts or the water pipe to connect it to either a liquid tesseract or an ender tank.
