So im trying to put repair 2 on my almost broke fortress armor the enchants it have is
-Protection 4
-Unbreaking 3
-Thorns 2
i read somewhere i just had to do 10% per enchant which is 70% right.
btw im lvl 36 and its a lvl 16 enchant so i dont know what to do and if my math is right 16 + 70% is not close to 30.

I had this problem too. I came to the conclusion that repair and unbreaking are incompatible enchants, don't quote me on that one, and in this case it was a hoe of growth not armor.
It's Kind of like how you can't have sharpness and bane of arthropods at the same time. (Without mods that bypass this)
Also can't you repair the armor in a vanilla anvil with a single ingot of thaumium (it won't recognize the repair if more then one)? Kind of like how the tools work.

Repair and Unbreaking are documented as incompatible. Infusion enchanting will never allow both. You can - of course - use the anvil to apply Unbreaking to an item with Repair using an enchanted book as the vanilla enchanting methods do not check for this restriction. But this violates the spirit of the mod imo.

If you want an Unbreaking item with self repair - thats what void metal is for.

I don't think the anvil does let you pair those enchants. I think I remember trying it and having it fail.

If memory serves, it was an order of operation ordeal. You could add Unbreaking to a tool already containing Repair, as Vanilla enchants didn't care. You couldn't add Repair to a tool with Unbreaking because TC ran a check to disallow it.

Ohh I see, that makes more sense.

Edit; there's also MFR, its auto enchanter doesn't give a shit about anything. I've had it enchant smite and sharpness on a sword before.
Have enough essence and power and you can have every applicable enchant on gear.
