I have started to use the Direwolf20 1.5.2 Pack the last few weeks and all is running fine, no probs at all, it's perfect.

The prob I am having is trying to fine an OptiFine that works with it (I love 'full grass' blocks). I have tried 'OptiFine_1.4.6_HD_U_D5' and ofc the game crashed. So I went and got the 'OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_D5', it works but the game does a 3 or 4 sec freeze every 30sec or so. I even get this with 'OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_U_D5.

If I take OptiFine off via the 'Edit Mod Pack' in the Launcher (same way I put he pack on via JarMods) and run Direwolf20 1.5.2 just on it's own the freezing stops.

I'm I missing something ? or using the wrong OptiFine?

If there is a log with accompanied by the crash (which there normally is) then please post a link to it here. (Upload it onto pastebin or some other similar site.)

You have answered your own question in the first line. If you were not using optifine and it was working then don't use it. Optifine is not recommended to use at all with 1.5.2 because it does not work well with forge mods.

Not all crashes give out the stack trace. The JVM might just shutdown without any notice. (Yes, it has happened to me)

Sounds surprisingly like what I had at some point. I was getting several secs lag spikes quite frequently. I never really figured out exactly what caused it, but it helped to disable: Options->Video settings->Quality->Natural textures (And maybe try connected textures). My best guess at the time was that natural textures tried to rotate multiblock textures or something, since it only really occurred at my base.

Optifine is not recommended to use at all with 1.5.2 because it does not work well with forge mods.
Might be, but atm I'm running OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_U_D5 with FTB Unleashed v1.1.3 with no problems at all.

Might just take OptiFine off. Pfft back to grass with dirt on.
It's a pain as I was playing the old Direwolf20 Pack with OptiFine with no probs but the new Direwolf20 1.5.2 can't.

It worked with the 1.4.7 because there was no optimization with forge but with 1.5.2 there is and as such there really is no need for it.
