I've been looking into FTB for a while, but I have yet to find an answer to the question that's been bugging me:
If I download and use this FTB launcher, will it have a seperate folder like the technic launcher? I want to use FTB, but I want to be able to use vanilla minecraft seperatley for servers.
and so, here's a few questions:
Does FTB automatically do this?
OR
Is it possible to do this? If so, How?

Please help me with this, and thanks in advance!

FTB doesn't mess with Vanilla at all. I just made a folder on my desktop and downloaded the launcher into there. From there, all the files are saved into that folder.

Since Vanilla files are kept elsewhere on the system, they are not touched and you can run both vanilla and FTB without having to do anything special.

Simply put, follow my instructions here:
http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/installation-feed-the-beast-launcher-win7-x64.15292/
or here:
http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/inde...ew/8/0/installing-the-feed-the-beast-launcher

Feed the Beast in no way will effect your vanilla minecraft launcher, or vanilla minecraft saves.

Okay, I've downloaded the launcher in a seperate folder(and set the download location to that folder), and the launcher works fine. Still, there is a problem. The modpacks don't download. They download extremley slowly, and always crash at about a tenth of the way. I've been looking around for solutions but haven't found one that works.
I've tried:
-Disabling Firewall/antivirus
-Moving the launcher to another folder
-Deleting and redownloading the launcher
-Clicking 'Force Update'
-All of the above
None of these has worked. Does anyone know why this isn't working, or have any other solutions?
And yes, I do have a legal minecraft account, So don't bug me about that -_-

You should be able to download it weather or not you even have minecraft installed to be honest.

The fact it starts then die makes me think its with an issue with your net connection or an issue with space on your pc or something else on your end that is intrupting the download.
