Help with gaming laptop for FTB!

Hi all.
I have a pc quadcore 2.8. Nvidia gtx 5800. 4 gb ram and I can barely run FTB direwolfs pack. Sometime i get 5-10 fps. I want to play it with a texture pack, thats why I want to buy a new PC. BUT it has to be a laptop for personal reasons. I can obly spend arround 800 dlls. I have a list of possible options and I was wondering if someone could help me. Cause I dont know what I nees to play FTB with a texture pack.

That Depends on the Resolution of the texPack;

You can safely cancel out all the Samsung / Sony / HQ ones.

Did you try to allocate more RAM to Minecraft on your current computer?
And did you update your graphic card drivers?
Both might lead to low framerates.

Yes I gave it 2gb just for minecraft and updated drivers. When I try to play it with a texture pack. It doesnt even start... gets stuck in loading...

Here's what I do when you're playing an FTB modpack ALT+TAB and look for Javaw.exe there should be two of them close out the one that has the lowest KB.

Note: Only do this after the pack has finish loading

That would be my suggestion. It is a similar setup to my current gaming laptop in terms of graphics card/RAM power, but the CPU is much better, which is where I suffer.

I have 8 GB of Ram, with a 2nd gen Intel i5 and a Nvidia 550M graphics card. I don't play with texture packs, but when I start lagging, I notice it is my CPU that is being bogged down, but not anything else. I am playing the current DW20 pack and I average 45 FPS, but I am also running a second screen with music, videos, or streams.

I use an M17X10 built a couple years ago. 8 gigs of ram is key in my opinion because I can dedicate 4g to Minecraft. I have no issues running the Soartex graphic package. I do get large amounts of lag when I run my mob grinder and entity count climbs to 1000. I heartily recommend Alienware if you have the budget for it.

you have a laptop right? most of them have switchable graphics, you should have optimus technology i belive: be sure to be using the dedicated GPU and non the CPU one
Your pc should run ftb with decent framerate

Just bought my laptop i7 4th gen. 12 gb ddr3. Nvidia gtx 2gb. Buut when im playing i get this msg saying cpu at 100%... what can i do?
