I've been playing on the 1.7.10 pack v0.0.7 on Technic launcher and well i am into thaumcraft for the group to get certain things that we want to use, nothing major, but sadly i seem to be at a annoying part, making runic shielding items. I am first focusing on the girdles and well aside from 1 time i was successful i have failed 5 times in a row and beginning to wonder if my arcane infusion setup is not stable enough or maybe unstable.

As you cans see in the attached image that is my setup, does it look too simple or is it fine?

Also on a side note. i am trying to get Silverwood saplings in the best way i can, but with no force glove, i only have chopping on the silverwood tree, finding a pech with some or scythes which i have not tried, Does anyone have a recommended way to get more saplings?

You're going to need a lot more stability items. The amount you have there won't be enough to prevent issues when you get past the basic infusion.

The main problem is that it gets messy if you keep all your stablisers visible on the surface. A nice place to hide them is under the infusion alter itself. The Arcane Abacus from Witching Gadgets is very useful for setting up the infusion alter's stablisers, right clicking it on the runic matrix gives you alot of info about stability and any errors. (You should avoid having any stablisers that are not opposite another one, or pedastals without an opposite number. Additionally items should be kept opposite another item as much as possible.)

You have something like 16-20 stability items there. By contrast I have more than a hundred. I can tell you for sure that 64 wasn't enough for major infusions in my altar (possible errors notwithstanding)

For reference, the blocks my infusion altar are built on is COMPLETELY covered on the underside with crystal clusters.

The top side gets more decorative stuff like mob heads and candles.

I occasionally get flux from big stuff but it's normally enough to keep a lid on things.

Yeah sort of the same here. Stuck 250-300 crystal clusters to the structure that my infusion alter is build upon(inside and outside):

(not sure the very lowest ones are in range, but wanted to keep "symmetry")

You can also use talow candles in the basement of you have now had as much luck with mining. I usually make up 2 stacks of candles and a stack of clusters and matrix out an 8 point star 2 blocks down in candles then fill around with clusters. Then put a layer of flooring of choice and build the altar. Add floating botania flowers above every component pedestal and a few decorative heads and should will be all set. I almost never get instability of any kind.

The mod "symcalc" adds only one item which gives numerical values of your current stability rating, its possible to reach complete stability. A 9x9 room beneath the altar with mob heads on the walls should do it.
