Hello everyone, I have read all of your posts to try and get my server up and running but it just won't seem to work. I downloaded the file and dragged it on my desktop, it was already a file, not zip. So I opened it, copied and pasted the stuf in a file that I created called "FTB Server". To try and make the "Server Start.sh" work, I opened terminal, wrote cd ~/Desktop/FTB Server then pressed enter. Then I wrote chmod +x "Server Start.sh" and it says No such file or directory. Then I double-press the Server Start.sh file and it comes up with the info about the RAM.
I've have been searching to find a solution but nothing seems to work :/ Please help, it will be greatly appreciated!
Try not typing the chmod +x part and after you are already in the directory "FTB server" just drag in the start. sh , assuming it says something like: "java -Xms1024M -Xmx2G -jar ~/desktop/FTB Server/direwolf20.jar"
(the gigs and mb can be substituted.)
try that to see if it works.
:)

Remember to use the "cd ~/desktop/FTB Server/" in terminal. that's how it solved it for me.[DOUBLEPOST=1358307172][/DOUBLEPOST]

Or, if that doesn't work, copy your configs from the client game, and post them in the server's directory. the start it with "cd ~/desktop/FTB server/" Remember not to actually type the quotes.

Try re-downloading the server files excluding the start.sh and whatever world you have (or whatever you don't want to lose.)

I always re-download them and even delete the entire server and make it again but it still comes up with the old world...

I have a problem if you wouldn't mind helping me out.
I have a macbook pro, only a year old, 4gb memory.

I've gone through all the terminal stuff, and opened up the jar, and it runs fine. it starts doing its thing, but then it gets to "saving chunks for level 'world'/Overworld" and it just stops...
I don't have my FTB client open, so I'm already confused how it's saving any chunks...
Anyways, on the left side it says how much memory and % it's using. It goes up and up and finally stops at 123 mb, and it says there is 0% free... which I would assume is a problem. My computer is running totally fine, it's not like it's actually using all my memory, in fact it's only using 123mb when I have 4gb, so I'm just really confused. any help would be greatly appreciated.

also, I've only JUST downloaded FTB and the server stuff, and it never gave me the option of how much memory to allocate, there was only the one serverstart.bat.

thank you for any help, I really need it (new at this stuff)

Just an update:
I've tried going into the two files and changing the text to larger allotments of memory, but it appears to make no difference.
Sometimes the preparing spawning area will go as high as 40% before my memory reaches 0%.
When memory reaches 0% sometimes it just stops and does nothing, one time is saved I believe, and another time it told me it failed to save because of lack of memory.

Having the exact same problem, I can't actually play with my friends because of this...I have a 8GB computer and I've alredy played both a tekkit and a normal server with 5 friends...now it can't even start the Ftb one...does anyone have a solution?

I did eventually find what I needed. Basically you run the program through terminal rather than the program they give you (because what they give you doesn't work, and has wrong encoding). They should really make a mac version. Consider I can do it on my own, it wouldn't be hard at all for someone with real knowledge. Here's a video on how to do it.
