Hey,

Im using a big reactor to power my quarry however I am getting an overflow of items, is there anything i can do to stop this from happening.

I vaguely remember using something to stop this on a past server/world.

Current system is

Big Reactor > Energy Conduit > Quarry.

Any ideas people?

Thanks!

Just to make sure I'm reading this right, the Quarry is powered by the Reactor, but the issue is item overflow from the Quarry, not a power issue?

What is your storage situation that gets overloaded? Are you filtering the Quarry output in any way? Or are you just looking to turn the Reactor/Quarry off when a chest fills up?

Edit:. You can try using a TE Energy Cell to throttle RF going into the Quarry to slow it down, but that seems fuel inefficient on the Reactor side. Might work as a stopgap until you can relieve your bottleneck.

Hop up on top of your reactor, and set your control rods to say 99% insertion. That'll slow down the power output and fuel consumption and give you more time to fix the storage situation.

Got golden transport pipes wired to loads of chests for storage of items, will try the 99% insertion rate

99% insertion rate still not working, got a temp solution of boxing myself in so im absorbing all the overflowed items

Is your pipe directly attached to the Quarry? I've seen here that people have had issues with the Quarry spitting items to the ground rather than into the pipe. The workaround for this was to use a chest against the Quarry as a buffer, then draw from that chest into your storage solution.

I always place a chest against the quarry, then pipes from there. I can't recall ever trying a pipe or conduit connected to the chest, or if I did it was so many mod packs ago I've forgotten. Best thing about a chest output is filtering stuff into a trash can.

Buildcraft pipes work fine. Quarries have issues recognizing other mods pipes for reason's I don't entirely comprehend. I suspect because most of them don't have an item buffer.
