I have spent the better part of 2 days trying to figure out how to improve my frame rate in minecraft by running it with my nvidia gtx 560 graphics card. I have seen many threads saying to use the control panel and assign minecraft, ftb, the java programs to it and select high performance card. My control panel does not give me that option but I still assigned those to the gpu. I am on a desktop pc and my gpu is connected to my monitor with an hdmi cable. I am not using the motherboard's vga connection at all and nvidia says it should be running all programs with the gpu if it is set up like this. I don't know what else to do.I've updated drivers, installed and uninstalled java and minecraft and given/taken ram. I just want to know in the simplest terms on how to run minecraft with my nvidia graphics card so I can get more than 6fps standing still.
Help me improve my FPS.

If your mainboard has VGA graphics you may have to go into your BIOS settings and turn the integrated graphics off, or it will remain active even if it's not connected. This will also cause part of your total system ram to be allocated for onboard video use only.
So you changed it in this panel? Under Manage 3d settings? Just point it to the correct Java install
Well I had to re-install my entire OS because I tried to disable the intergrated graphics card (which has always been disabled) I honestly don't know why it wont work. I have set java to use the card with the nvidia control panel as is shown in the screenshot above as well as minecraft.exe, ftb launcher, javaw. Just going to keep trying to play at 10 fps and pray something changes.
