something happened on the server I run. I build pipe got severed somewhere in my system and its dumping massive amounts of items to the floor. No one can look in that direction without unplayable system lag, or the game out right disconnecting them.

there are machines in another age with 2 quarries giving the blocks. I cannot stop the machines.

how do I stop this administratively?

Stop the server now.
Then do what voidreality said.
But the sooner you stop the server the less potential issues you will have.

Thanks for the tip.
Its what I have done in the past with errors, I thought after a year there may be a better way to deal with it ^^
I will report back later with what happened.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
If its in a mystcraft age, then worldedit or MCedit might have a few issues with mod blocks and mod dimensions

In-Game solution:
As no-one can look at it- set your render distance to tiny, then tower up about 60 blocks, then bridge out over it and dump lava- this will destroy all the items (hopefully) without rendering them in the client and lagging.

If its just a mining age, delete it and consider NEI'ing people's quarries back.
