I plan to make my Minecraft world a server soon, and need to map it out fully, but due to the size, just exploring the world is simply not an option. I know of a few programs that can expand a world to a set bound, but I need something that will work with FTB ExtrabiomesXL. (BTW i'm still using FTB Unleashed, I refuse to get rid of my world and update to 1.6)

Here is a map of my world, but I really want to generate a massive square map: http://www.minecraftworldmap.com/worlds/uTgYL/full#/4415/64/-1348/-3/0/0

Uh, can somebody please help me with this issue? I really want to generate my map without having to spend months exploring new chunks.

But why do you need to generate a massive amount? Regardless, I suggest installing MCPC and using Worldborder to pre-generate the chunks.

I want a massive world to work with. It is amazing to have a big open world, like an MMO, but I want a cool world map of it and that cant happen if only strips of explored terrain are generated, it also has to be massive so I get the effect of oceans.

I have two questions about this MCPC:

1. Will it work with extrabiomesXL? (AKA will it generate the extra biomes?)
2. Does it require a new world? Because I need to use the same world for reasons I already expressed.

1. Yes
2. No

I'll explain.
MCPC is a mix of Forge and Spigot, which allows use of bukkit plugins alongside forge mods. It is a replacement for the server jar. So therefore, if you use something like worldborder, it will generate using the mods as well.
But, I do suggest taking a backup before doing anything, just to be safe.

So, for ftb do I just copy the mods and configs files over to another folder in MCPC?

Backups are fine, I make a backup pretty much every other day anyways.

If the server is performant enough to deal with a world that large, it should be performant enough to generate the terrain on demand?

1. Its single player.
2. its about generating a large square world so I know the general shape of the world.

Get ACT, the new mod by Prof. Moebius. It allows you to pregen chunks.
Edit: I missed you are still on 1.5, so I guess this is not an option.

How could I tp myself to explore the whole map?

well, you *know* that the game will generate chunks within visual range of the player. So set the view distance to as much as you can tolerate, and then issue a set of /tp, visiting coordinates that that are spaced 2*r apart. As the default 'far' view distance (on servers) is 10 chunks something like this:

/tp 0 80 0
/tp 0 80 320
/tp 0 80 640
/tp 320 80 0
/tp 320 80 320
etc.

You need, obviously, to be in creative mode to do this. If you are in SSP and have cheats on or are in SMP and are an OP, you can '/gamemode 1' to switch.
