First off: I run Win7. 64-bit.

Hey, so! I've never been able to run Minecraft, no matter what I've done. Or rather, I can run it, but it's always always always been jerky as hell to the point of not being worth playing.

I decided to try again and had two very knowledgeable friends walk me through optimizing and speeding it up - nothing worked. I even ran my computer through every scan they could think of and - while it did remove a few things - it didn't help my fps in game at all.

No matter what I do, it hovers between 1fps - 3fps, and almost never goes any higher while in game. So strange, since I can watch movies just fine and nothing else on my computer seems funky.

SPECS: I have an MSI A6200, defunct now on their website, and I know my video driver hasn't been updated in a year - we attempted to update it with a generic, should-work-for-every-one driver, but it said the comp didn't meet the minimum requirements, which is beyond weird.

I'll just post my DirectX Dialogue:

So yea. . . I have turned off everything inside Minecraft that I could that would optimize speed - turned all nonessential settings off or to fast, draw distance at tiny, performance up all the way, graphics to fast. . .etc. No clouds, no fog (I have OptiFine installed). Literally everything we could think of that normally helps.

Not a single thing has helped, but they assure me that my computer should be able to run Minecraft. So I come to you, dear forumites. Help? I'll probably check every couple'a half hours if you have any questions - I'll try and answer. I'm not super tech savvy though, as a warning.

I mean FTB. I'm pretty sure I had the same experience on Vanilla though. I could double check though, if that would help.

So I just loaded it, and I actually get between 10-25fps on Vanilla Minecraft, though it still seems a bit jerky.

Probably intel graphics (integrated). Their performance, at least in my book, isn't the greatest. Also the core i3 isn't very helpful. Try switching to windows classic theme and closing open windows. Dedicating more RAM to FTB (in the launcher options) will also probably help.

We already tried all of that, and it didn't help. There's already 2GB RAM dedicated to FTB, and I closed everything except for Ventrilo, which is a rather light program. It didn't make a bit of difference.

Are you on a laptop or a desktop? Seems like laptop hardware to me, but still unsure.

Laptop, indeed. Bought late in the summer of 2010.
Ah, so it's running on the 2000 graphics, I believe.
Well, as far as my knowledge runs, you can't really do much about it. It's not the greatest hardware, and cannot be upgraded.
But I don't know a lot, so you probably want to seek help from others.
Best of luck playing FTB.

Here are a few thoughts:
Do you have the latest version of java?
Do you plan on playing on a server with your friends or single player? If you are playing SP then you could try disabling some of the mods. You most likely will not need any of the voxel mods.
Try playing around with the RAM slider. See if maybe 1GB makes it run better. It sounds counter-intuitive I know, but it might work.
Can you post your log from the launcher console after you run your mod pack?
Check Intel for the video card driver, not sure if they would have it, but would not hurt.

Edit: Also be sure to get the 64bit version of java. You will need to select 'See all Java downloads' to see it, since your browser will automatically download the 32bit version instead.
Or go here for a direct link:http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Edit2: Try here for your video driver.
