Hello, I just discovered shift+f is broken on my keyboard, anyways... I somehow became obsessed with fTB videos while perusing youtube for minecraft videos.
Somewhere along the line I discovered tech mods, shortly after I discovered redpower2 is truly an amazing mod. I later discovered direwolf20, mostly through mod spotlights. Watched every Wrenched, it was great. Watched WayOfTime's fTB videos. Started watching direwolf20's actual let's plays instead of mod spotlights, somehow started watching streams. I made lot's of discoveries it seems?
I hang out on irc often, including the stream chats from twitch now, which is my primary way of seeing who's streaming when. I'm interested in programming in general, Java is the first language I get more serious with trying to learn (as opposed to a lame games scripting language), and have been, made some little game tech prototype things, best of, asteroids ish shooter, where you can blow up 10's of thousands of rocks with bullets and homing missiles over a very large area (infinite-ish), 2d. the bullets/missiles can run forever, and still collide with all the moving rocks (which are being moved all over the world, yes. 10's of thousands of them, all slowing drifting on my fully zoomed out minimap. Maybe not impressive to you, but to me, yay.) Started learning opengl with lwjgl, made a .obj loader for static models (read constant failure at manually coding models {ssh, it was a cube!}, so I used blender), and can render them, with modern shaders, not fixed functions. Haven't actually made anything else of interest yet. Thinking of doing some mod, just because it's interesting. Only ever played on one public tech server, so far, wouldn't call it the most amazing experience, but fun to be social? Learned about MultiMC, and now I can finally put mods together easily, and actually can fix my own id conflicts! Now why the heck is my shift+f broken...
