hello every one i have a bit of trouble downloading feed the beast and tekkit and i have looked into it but haven't seen anything to salve my problem. the problem is when i login and try to run a mod pack it just says welcome runs a bit then closes i have played before for along time on my mac witch i am using right now i think the problem is my java and i dont know what java i need to play thing and if its a older java how to downgrade it.

any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Welcome to the forums. This post will probably moved to the tech support so please be aware of that. Follow this guide for the recommended way to install the launcher and the packs. Look here for more info about Java, MacOS and the launcher issues. The second guide has a link that helps you downgrade to Java 6.
