Having trouble powering forestry machines

I have been trying to find a solution to my problem...and my maybe I've missed something, but I don't think so. So I came here as a sort of last resort.
I'm on a server that uses Hermitcraft, and I'm trying to transport power to my Forestry machines, but the two cable types I've tried don't work, and I can't find anything with google.
I'm using a stirling engine, which worked before when it was directly hooked up to the machines.
I've tried Basic Universal Cables (mekanism) and Cobblestone Kinesis Pipes (BC transport), but every time I turn the engine on, it doesn't start pumping and quickly overheats. If someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would REALLY appreciate it.

Drop some screenshots of your build- it helps a lot if we can see what you're doing.
Remember you need a wooden kinesis pipe to extract power from the engine, then stone [or better] to transport the power.

Wooden pipe...right...that was the issue...or aprt of it. I'm sorry, I'm still learning, I guess.
However this still leaves the mystery of why my friend could power his centrifuge using the universal cable and magmatic dynamo...
But thanks for you help. I probably wouldn't have realized my mistake if someone hadn't pointed it out. <3
