Having problems with the hopper.

I want to funnel item from one chest to another using a hopper, but it doesn't fill. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using Buildcraft hoppers? If so you need to pump items in to the hopper.

or make your own pack... Thats what I have done and i am playing with 1.5.2[DOUBLEPOST=1369004872][/DOUBLEPOST]You can use a relay from RP2 to work the same its basically a hopper you can face anywhere.

Using Ultimate currently, so I don't think all the mods are updated yet.

Ultimate has redpower 2 which has the relay. That should solve your problems.

Tried it on my test world and it can't take items out of chests.

it has its own large inventory and can act as its own chest. If you want to take stuff out of a chest you will need to use either a wooden pipe with an engine/autarcic gate or a transposer/filter with a timer.[DOUBLEPOST=1369006696][/DOUBLEPOST]You can use a router from fractorization too.
