Having a problem with Thermalilies.

Does anyone know how the auto-feed them lava in Sky Factory 3? And do they decay like the Hydra's do?

They should not decay, but feeding them is a matter of timing if I remember correctly. According to my wiki-fu, they produce Mana for 45 seconds after drinking lava, then go into a five minute cool down. If they absorb lava before the cool down has ended, they produce no Mana and restart the cool down period. It would be wise to feed them on a six minute cycle.

OK, but how do I feed them? Can they drink directly out of a crucible? How do I automatically pour lava to make them feed? I'm thinking 6 crucibles heated with uranium blocks should produce enough lava from my cobblestone generator, but I can't see any way to auto-feed them.

Thermalilies want lava placed like water would be for hydrogenas (adjacent or diagonal to a source block). The vanilla way would be lava buckets in a dispensor. Hydrogenas are the only flower that actually decays in the 1.10 versions of botania. There are probibly modded options, but i don't really know skyfactory 3 modlist that well off top of my head.


A note that floating flowers don't get washed away by fluids.

The main caveat to this is you don't want to leave a lava source block constantly next to the thermalilies, they have a cool-down period where they cannot produce mana. If you provide more lava the thermalilly will happy eat it when it's cool enough to, but not produce mana. (They need to fully cool down first.)

Thanks for the tips. Figured out a way to do it without dispensers and regulating feeding in pulses with three devices.

Actually Additions should have a block that places fluids in the world, but I don't remember if SF3 has a mod that provides a timer.
I rember that since I was too lazy, I fed a Lava Factory 60RF/t and placed 4 Thermalilies in the corners: this let me produce 4 lava sources in the span of 5mins, so that the 4 mana flowers could eat and be ready to eat again after every other flower was fed.
Granted, this is inefficient, but produces little lag and I find it really cool.

RFTools and Actually Additions has what you need. I can feed 4 Thermalilies with a single Crucible that's heated with only Block of Uranium.

Working on getting it to feed 8 Thermalilies at once.
