It's been a while.

2013-05-21_00.32.06.png

I mined a shard and crafted a wand/thaumanomicon. I later found out that you can buy shards from villagers! Most def going to go with that route from now on.

2013-05-23_16.12.43.png

I began breeding villagers. Getting the population up was way too easy.

2013-05-24_20.42.01.png

I built the iron golem farm (dirt, I know...)

2013-05-23_19.55.25.png

I dragged them up there and crammed them into their holding cells.

2013-05-24_19.04.43.png

The effects were immediate and unexpected. I now have a bunch of iron.

2013-05-24_20.32.12.png

I researched the basic transmutations. The hardest part was gold. Getting caras was a pain before I remembered that smooth sandstone had it.

2013-05-25_15.54.27.png

Transmuting iron into useful stuff! I came up with a recipe that doesn't produce flux. 3 iron ingots and 8 cookies = 24 copper nuggets. Tin was easier since it's just glass and iron. For times when I can't avoid making flux I walk over to the nearest silverwood tree and dump the excess aspects into it to be dissipated.

Synfill visits my base, checking out the red wheat operation. I really needed redstone at the time.

2013-05-30_23.29.27.png

I got machines! Kind of! My first priority was this cropnalyzer so that I wouldn't have to breed blindly. While breeding I also got some random stickreed, terrawart, and hops!

2013-06-10_23.14.47.png

The breeding operation is a huge success. Their stats are around 15-15-0 give or take. The chamber I'm growing them in could be bigger, but whatevs.

Threre's a bunch more to show you, including recyclers, a cactus powered generator and grinding for emeralds, but that will have to come later :p

Quick question, is that redwheat growing without being in a crop frame?

No. The crop is just hard to see because the redwheat is fully mature.

Update!
I started digging out a basement!

Pesky ores are in my way >.>

2013-05-31_21.34.10.png

So I moved them !

And that was that. Doing this for each ore that happened to generate underneath my house was a huge pain though. I think I will look into getting that exo-armor upgrade that mounts a piston on your shoulder. Seems like it would come in handy here.

2013-06-04_16.32.59.png

These are the machines I have so far. A few recyclers, an electric furnace, an assembler and a plate bender. They are being powered manually with charcoal. Needless to say I chop a lot of trees.

2013-06-04_16.32.48.png

After getting tired of chopping trees I built this stuff. The compressor makes compressed plantballs. The canning machine puts it into a cell, then the extractor makes it into fuel for the diesel generator. The profit margin is kind of small but it's all being automatically fed by my cacti farm!

Building this was fun. It took a lot of sand (which I made by pulverizing cobble) and I only died once.
2013-06-07_17.52.13.png
I made an automatic chicken farm. This gets me lots of raw chicken to sell to villagers. I have also been selling wheat and breeding villagers, and I got some wizards selling shards.
2013-06-10_22.50.25.png
I made goggles of revealing!1 I also generated a little bit of flux in the process, but it should dissipate eventually. After putting them on I found out that there's an unstable node very nearby.
Next up is diamonds, thaumcraft farming, uncrafting and Exo suits!

Don't get an exo-suit, I made one and the mechanics were extremely glitchy. The running wall jump worked only 10% of the time (although it was cool when it did work) and the shoulder mounted piston didn't do anything. The cobble generator is nice if you want a constant supply of cobble, but that's about it.

Don't get an exo-suit,

The shoulder mounted piston works fine for me, and that's the main feature I'm using it for. Digging underground is loads easier now that I can push ores out of the way at will. Still don't know how to deal with those pesky quartz crystals though. You can't push them, and pushing the block they are on just results in it staying there or popping off onto the ground >.>

Anybody got some advice on how to dispose of those things without mining or picking them up?
