Windows .exe Hard Lagging when playing FTB - probably because of hard drive issues?

Hey there,

I am new to this forums but I've played FTB for about a month with D20's modpack. Since I've installed it on my desktop I've noticed hard lags. I cannot explain why because my desktop should handle the game much better than my notebook as it is completley new. I think it could be caused by some problems with my hard drive as I installed the game on the "System" partition on which I only have 1 GB of free memory. Is there a way to change the save location of FTB Launcher and also all the saves so I can move the game to another partition with more space?

I think you could move ( cut and paste, yea. simple, really. ) your ftb folder to your desired partition, then open up the ftb launcher, and go into the options panel, setting the install folder to your new ftb folder location.

However, I have no idea what you mean by a "hard" lag. If you mean you're experiencing frame rate lag, it may be because your old notebook's specs ( gpu and cpu ) is much better than your desktop's. Ram dosen't really matter. You only need 1 gb if you plan to exit your world and back in every 30 or so mystcraft age switches.
You could also check if your desktop is running 64 bit java, etc. If you really can't take it, install optifine with a compatible forge version. ( fps +100%++++)

Hey there, thanks for your answer! I've moved the ftblauncher folder but I am missing my world saves. Can you tell me where I can find them?

Edit: Silly me, I have found it and moved everything correctly. Also insalled Optifine and it runs fine for me now, thanks for your help!
