I started growing sugar cane for paper and cotton for sting. I know there is alot more that can be grown. Do we have a guide on here that goes over all the different things that can be grown? I remember something on the godcraft server I used to play on where you could cross breed plants and my hybrids. But i cant remember what mod it was from or how it even was done. Can someone point me in the right direction? Heck even a simple list of all the things you can grow would help.

Well... What mod pack?
Assuming you're using Unleashed, like most people do, there are a lot of IC2 plants that can be grown, and Forestry trees to breed, but I'm not the plant expert.

IC2 crossbreeding has MANY plants that can be grown including stats that can be improved such as yield, growth rate, and I believe resistance.
Some plants that I can think of off the top of my head would be; Hops, stick reeds, iron root, terra-wart, and I believe there is an XP plant as well could be wrong though.
There are dozens of plants that can be bred though.

Just like krugle said, IC2 has cross breeding available to you. Get a metric ton of wood, make sticks then place four sticks in the upper and middle left and right sides of the crafting grids to get crops. If you place for example wheat in one block skip a block the place the other seed you would want to cross breed the wheat with. Then till the land in-between these two and place two crops in their and the two plants will have a random chance of cross breeding with one another. Be careful though, they could not cross breed and just produce weeds. Which will spread and destroy all of your crops if not taken care of. If a plant does grow in-between them that will be the cross bread plant. You can get the seed bag and products by left clicking on the crop when grown (destroys plant) or just harvest the product by right clicking. The other thing you will need right of the bat if you want to see the plant's stats is a cropalyzer. Place a power source inside by right clicking and then moving the power source into the slot on the top right I believe and then you can place your seed bags in the left hand side. Scan them thrice for full stats.

I do hope the devs for IC2 work on the crops aspect of the mod. I find them pretty interesting to say.

Maybe split it apart from the main mod and make it an addon?

I've always hoped for them to do more with crops, but when it was introduced it was introduced as something for end game... which I never really could figure out how crops are meant as end game...

Maybe introduce genetic machines like extra bees for forestry does? Machines that you feed extra seeds that are analyzed to turn them into dna which you can use in another machine to make the crop you want?
So early game, you need to manually crossbreed and care for them. Mid game allows you to nurture and care for them automatically as well as machines that can plant and harvest, in case MFR isn't installed. End game would be all about getting what you want directly?

There are a Gendustry mod doing something like that, their advanced genetics machine works on both bees and trees. (Disclaimer: I haven't play with this mod, I've just started learning bees breeding)
