gregtech unification keeps changing itself

Is there any way to stop Gregtech unification from changing itself? I'm running FtB Monster w Gregtech, and it has the unification thing. Which is great. Except that it keeps changing itself. Sometimes it wants to turn all rubber into IC2 rubber. Sometimes it wants to change it all into Minefactory rubber. And mimichite keeps getting turned into the useless mimichite gems. I go into the config file to stop it from changing mimichite, but then later on it just changes itself again. Is there anything I can do to stop it from changing on it's own like that?

Short of disabling all gregtech unifications I couldn't find a way myself. I found it easier to just deal with having a few multiples of items that needed processing into whichever other type I had chosen to use.
