After reading 4-5 different threads, it was concluded if you add both it basically will crash your game, however these posts were from a year to 3 years old, has there been any solution im just not finding to adding both of these mods? I come from the Ultimate pack (been playing for two years) and decided I need an upgrade, so i switched to Direwolf20 1.7.10 and I missed Tinkers construct from even longer ago in an earlier pack. Typed in "chrome" to the nei and found gregtech wasnt added, hence the searching. Anyways, any fix for this yet or am I stuck missing my beautiful chrome and titanium ingots?
(also, saw a bit of debate on how gregtech was crap due to something-something, I dont even know, but if theres any REAL argument on why getting it isnt worth it, feel free to let me know)

You can't run them together, just don't report crashes involving either mod to the authors as those reports are likely to not be accepted.

The GT not being worth it thing is an opinion thing that people often take too far. It isn't for everyone, but the only way to know is to play with it a little.

personally I loved gregtech, and after reading more into the situation/argument, I know udnerstand more fully (kidna) what the crazyness is about, such a shame as Ive already dug into TC a bit and gotten myself some good items, only to have to replace it (assuming I wantit bad enough) for endgame stuff in GT. hate to have to choose :L

tl;dr version: There's a config option for TiCo that you will need to enable, involving disabling the auto-smelt and fortune modifier interaction for TiCo tools, to run them together without having... issues. Since Gtech requires you to smelt metal blocks back into ingots, rather than simply crafting them, the auto-smelt plus the fortune applying to it will create more ingots than originally went into it.

In hindsight I'm surprised Greg didn't just solve this all by making a new and separate machine that allowed you to undo a block and or done away with the smelting recipes and left it so the only way to separate the block in to ingots was to grind it and re-smelt the resulting dust.
That sounds like Greg's style and it would have avoided the spat.
