Gregtech Thermal Boiler

I can't seem to figure out where to find or how to produce the Molten Salt required for the Gregtech thermal boiler...

Not sure whether it's a work-in-progress or i'm missing something, as in the GT manuals and ftbwiki http://ftbwiki.org/Thermal_Boiler it mentions using lava or molten salt, any ideas on where/if I can find the latter?

Basically the Thermal Boiler just runs on lava at the moment. I don't really understand the idea behind the boiler and generator in that it seems like they're not intended to be automated (unlike just about everything else in gregtech/ic2).
