I've been waiting for The Ultimate Pack to be released and I heard it's getting easier. I don't know too much about configuration and would like to ask for help. I don't want it to be too easy, so how do I make it harder?
(I guess like Mindcracks, I haven't played Minecrack, I just know the settings are supposed to be hard)

It's a simple matter of opening a cfg file and changing things from true to false or vice-versa.

I wouldn't know what to change though. Like, I could find out how to do it. I just wouldn't know what settings to put true or false. =O.
Should I just change it to Mindcracks settings?

Edit:I don't know what too easy or hard is really. I played the Beta for a couple of days, and it was pretty easy to make the Mass Fab and supply it with energy to make UU-Matter. And I think that was supposed to be the hardest, I didn't even have a quarry yet. =P. So I'm iffy on what settings to put, I don't want it extremely mudane, but don't want it easy.

The IDs will be the same, so overwriting the Ultimate GregTech config with the Mindcrack GregTech config should definitely work.

If you changing Gregtech settings for an SMP server, won't all the players/clients need the same config files for it to work? It seems like a massive hassle.

I believe NEI looks at the client files to get the recipes not the server that is why Your client would be telling fibs if you only change the server file.

In fact if you tried to do it the way your client says it would not work.. thus making confusion

Yes, but your client will only be able to craft something if it knows how to craft something. Everyone would need to change, but really, it's not that hard.

That's weird, because when I change the GT settings to easy recipes, it still shows the hard recipes on the server. That is unless I change the settings on my client too.
People seem to be having problems with this lately, I think this might actually be a glitch that happens sometimes.

I don't know if it's a glitch. I mean, NEI does look to the client for recipes, not the server.
So it makes sense that I see the hard recipes regardless of any changes to the server settings.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood what you said, people have been saying that their changes to the client and server have not actually been affecting anything unless changed multiple times, I thought you were having problems with this.

I had little complaints about GT in 1.4.2 - I liked the extra difficulty - but damn the GT modified solar recipe in 1.4.6 is absurd. With advanced panel mod, there's little chance you can make a base solar panel without being able to instantly upgrade it to advanced.

That! is so true! I mean it's too overkill. To get one tier 1 solar panel (1EU/t ??) you have to build a tier 2 industrial blast furnace at least to get those silicon plates.

Hey guys rather than make a new topic I decided to ask this here as its on the same topic.

On the gregtech page it says

Every of my Machines needs to be CONSTANTLY powered with the needed amount of EU. As soon as the Machine doesnt get the required amount of EU/t it will lose its Progress. But thats not all. The Machine will WASTE all the Power you insert, no matter if its enough to Power the Machine. So if you have a bad Workshop/Factory then it could waste Millions of EU, without producing anything.
If you dont want that behaviour, then just disable it in the Config.

Does any one know what the config setting is called I am not very good with the mods at this point in time and this is really holding me back.
I have had a quick read but nothing really jumped out at me Infact the whole config explanation section seems rather useless
