I know Greg adds his machines to the game, but my question is, is there a way to adjust the config so that I can use his machines, as well as the default ones? I don't quite have the resources to make some of his machine, and his some of the IC2 items, such as ejector upgrades, etc are pointless without those default machines to use them.

Well about ejector update... this upgrade is useless for gt machines because automatic gt machines can autoeject by default, so there is no need for ejector upgrade plus for non-automatic machines like electrolyzer and such, you can use conveyor cover. Btw, what exactly do you need? Cheaper recepies or default machines?

I knew they can do that, but the default machines recipes have been disabled it appears, I just don't know how to enable them so I can use those until I can craft some of the higher end stuff greg has in his mod.

Are you in 1.5? I believe that one of the config files has the whole "disable recipes" bit in it - you will need to both enable the original machines AND re-enable the old recipes, iirc

This config is also in 1.6.

Not super familiar with his configs, and I don't want to bork something up by screwing with it, would you happen to know which config, and which line has to be edited?

On another note, it does seem that a lot of his machines can only accept 32 eu/tick which is why I am wanting to have another alternative I could throw transformer upgrades in and such.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to say but GT machines accepts transformator upgrades.

Really, cause it doesn't look like there are slots for upgrades like the default machines, less I am just blind. How do you apply an upgrade to them, and can you do more than one ?

Sure, you can add 16 upgrades Max. Just shift -right click with upgrade in hand, just be aware of that you can 't remove it and that overclock upgrade doubles speed and quadruples energy cost.

Ahh, so if I want to move the machine, or tear it down for any reason, I would have to make new upgrades?

Not so much worried about the energy cost, between lava for geothermals, and steam power via the turbine, I don't really have any energy problems. :)

No, if you dismantle machine, upgrade will stay in machine. And about steam power for your machines... Gt adds more upgrades for example lapotron upgrade or energy orb upgrade for bigger internal energy storage or steam upgrade which you can use to power machines with steam.... You should check it out. Gt is really powerful with its upgrade and cover system.

Those are some neat upgrades. I will definitely have to look at those. In regards to steam, can railcraft steam be pumped in, or does it have to steam created with gregtech? I have plenty of railcraft steam laying around, lol.

Meant to ask in regards to an earlier question of yours, how exactly do the machines autoeject? Cause the way I have my setup currently 2014-04-04_14.15.32.png. I'd like to keep a similar setup when I upgrade to gregtech machines, do they auto eject downward ? Or is it only side by side autoejecting?

Actually, it should be rather simple. Gregtech machines autoeject by default to backside (through that hole), but you can rotate it by wrench. I'm not 100% sure if automatic machines are autoejecting by default, but in GUI should be few buttons. If I'm not wrong, one of them should be enabling/disabling autoeject, another one should be enabling/disabling energy output, which mean, you can have power input into auto-macerator which will be outputing power to connected auto-furnace, of course, output can be 32EU/t max. Also, if you are using GT4.06d or newer, auto-machines and conveyor covers should be compatible with TE3 Itemducts and automatically output to them.

Both gregtech and railcraft is using oredict (or its fluid version), so you can use steam from RC.

Btw, finally I found that config option. You can choose from three options:
1)Leave it like it is (actually I really don't thinks there is any reason to enabling IC2 machines since auto-machines are practically same except different ratio for overclock upgrades + GT ones have advantages like autoeject, ability to use covers and other GT upgrades, energy outputing, etc.)
2) B:allowVanillaIC2MachinesFromAutomaticOnes_false=false <--- In config/GregTech/DynamicConfig.cfg, change it to true if you want IC2 machines. This way, if you want IC2 version of machine, you can just make it from auto-machine by shapeless crafting. This was true by default on 1.5 version of GT or maybe only in FTB universal config... I'm not really sure... However, this is used typically if you have some other mod which is using IC2 machines in crafting and not using oredict.
3) B:automaticmachines_true=true <--- also In config/GregTech/DynamicConfig.cfg, by changing it to false you can disable GT versions of IC2 machines completly... I'm not really sure, why you should do that.
