GregTech: Don't understand why the macerator is so expensive.

I've noticed the Macerator recipe from IC2 is like super expensive because of GregTech, and I have disabled the recipe, but I still don't understand why it's so expensive with it. I'm new to FTB and to my knowledge you need a macerator to make a solar panel for coal dust?

Make a pulveriser until you get your supplies up more.. You can do a lot with a pul that you can also do with a macerator

So you changed the config to this? If so are you playing SP or on a server? If you are playing on a server then the server sets the recipe not the client.

You are looking for coal dust right? If you are using one of the ftb modpacks then you could also use a pulverizer from Thermal Expansion. Or you could use a Flint Mortar on coal to get hydrogenated coal dust. Then use a furnace to cook the hydrogenated coal dust into coal dust.

The reasoning Greg goes by is that an item that instantly doubles all your ore yield ought to be expensive. IMO the default FTB config makes no sense - it comes with the expensive macerator, but the cheap pulverizer. Either make both the cheap recipes or both the expensive recipes, not this wishy-washy stuff.
