I just got my first few bronze machines and I am trying to set up the boiler. I have some buildcraft liquid pipes pumping in water to the small coal boiler from the right, and steam going out the top to another BC pipe to some tanks for storage, but after I got it going, it started trying to send steam into the water input pipe. How do I prevent this ? I was thinking an iron pipe, but I'm sure there is another (better) way. Any help is appreciated

Are you sending a steady stream of water to the boiler? I can't imagine it could output steam into a pipe with water in it.
As it will output steam to any side (except front), as long as you have water in that pipe it should not be able to output to it.

If you want to try something, place a tank (or whatever is making your water), and have the wooden pipe output from the tank to the boiler. Not sure you can output into both sides of a wooden pipe.

Thanks ! I have another qustion now, I managed to make a Bronze Jackhammer, but it still doesnt seem to be getting through stone very fast at all (I have harder stone on in GT config) is there a way to modify block break speeds for certain tools or am I doin something wrong ?

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Boilers try to output steam through every connected pipe. You'll want the water input pipe to be totally full of water, and to always remain full then the steam can't get in.
Iron pipe might do it- worth a try.

Bronze jackhammer runs off Eu.
I think theres a WIP Gtech addon that adds steam powered tools though

I used single use batteries to fill the bronze jackhammer. I guess it is faster than the stone pickaxe, but still takes way longer to break stone than it would with any normal pickaxe with the harder stone option off. I thought the whole purpose of having the jackhammers was to get past the long break times caused by the harder stone option in the first place. On my creative world, I guess I only tried the higher tiered ones and they break stone very very fast so I assumed the bronze would do a decent job as well. It seems to be the same speed as my ProjectRed ruby pick. I made PR's gems extremely rare to nerf them also so I'd hoped they'd also be a bit faster, but oh well...
