Disable AA & AF for javaw.exe in your graphics card control panel. I had an AMD card that did that really badly if I didn't manually turn it off. If it's an AMD card the ability to do so is somewhere with the application profile stuff, if it's nVidia it's under 3D settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings.
