I dunno about previous generations in my family, but aside from one case of lens-fixing cataracts surgery, pretty much everyone here wears glasses (or contacts, but mostly glasses) as well.

Okay then.

I didn't get around to getting my own glasses until high school. Probably better than than in elementary/middle school, as everyone (everyone who I ran into frequently, at least) had already gotten used to me being a nerd. I've heard about people with glasses getting teased for it, and I want no part in that.

37 I didn't get much of that as I recall. But then again I was the loner. Between being awkward as all get out and being a nerd I got plenty of other teasing so they left the glasses bit alone
