84 because I never imagined I had to ask this question :"is there an English word for a pile of wood/hay/other flammable stuff from ancient times setup in such a way that it can be used to burn prisoners?".
yep, my mind is a lovely place where people live happily together and no one gets murdered /s

86 the word is indeed pyre
(perhaps pyure likes pyres?) :P

I think it is also best not to mention the full context of why I needed it.

87 I like to create fantasy worlds and for the one I currently made I decided to write stuff down.
However English is not my main language however it is easier for me to write my thoughts in it then in Dutch. This sometimes results in weird questions.

(they are used to burn children btw)

89 it has to do with people being very scared of dark magic and to be honest in their position I don't really blame them.
(which is perhaps the most disturbing thing about it)

90 So this world and Salem, Massachusetts in the Witch Trials era have a lot in common, it sounds like.

Any possibility of influence from Innistrad?

92 I have indeed read it, and possibly watched a movie made from it. About the only things I remember are the setting and general premise (i.e. the Salem Witch Trials), some of the characters' names, and one single line and its immediate context: "BECAUSE IT IS MY NAME!!!", spoken by some guy (name started with a T) who'd played a major role in the play, expressing his reason for why he'd rather get lynched than (falsely) admit to being a witch and being spared the lynch (but not all the other crap that being a "proven" witch comes with).

I think I might've remembered that line in particular because my English teacher that year liked it. I believe he was the one I had my sophomore year in high school... four or four and a half years ago.

94 The Crucible was the dumbest book I've ever read. Maybe it was because my English teacher insisted that John Proctor caused all the issues and forces Abigail into her insanity because of oppression of women. Like lol.
