Middle school is 7th & 8th grade.
"Basic school" is called Grade School, or Elementary School.

We have the old primary school and after that it splits into 3 school types. A basic one, the middle and high. After basic you can go middle and then high, and then college, after middle, high and then college and after high, college. But you also can go to a lower college after middle school.

In holland its the follwing:
You go 8 years to elementery
Then you choose a "difficulty level" (worst)Vmbo, Mavo, Havo or Vwo(best)
Vmbo & mavo take 4 years
havo 5
vwo 6
after you done a lower diff you can always go up one
after mavo you can do MBO
Havo HBO
Vwo Uni
im doing havo, But gona continue to vwo after next year when i have my exams
