92 Yeah, there's an option for that as well. If that was the default when I first started using Unity, I got annoyed by it (having just come from Windows or Windows-like gnome2) and turned it off pretty quick. It took a while to figure out that it won't open if you just touch the edge of the screen with your cursor- you have to try to push your cursor a ew pixels beyond the edge of the screen.

And then I got annoyed by it opening all the time when I didn't want it to, so I made it only open by pushing into the corner. That worked well.

95 currently I am enjoying a simple window manager, using programs that where already installed by mate to fill in the gaps.
(Caja as file manager, mate-sound-control or whatever it is called to easily access my sound settings that are more complicated then louder or softer)

It contains of a simple black bar at the top, button to open a menu (that I don't use), the screen tags (same as virtual desktops but a bit more advanced). The programs that are currently on the tag(s) I have on my screen, the date, sound level and the window layout.

I can also press super+r to open programs or press super+s to have another small bar appear underneath it that is also a menu. This one works with the keyboard (not with the mouse) and I can just type as well. This is the menu I use the most.

I just need to switch out the fonts so it uses ubuntu's font instead of sans. Its not comic sans might you, but still. It needs to change >_<

97 dual booting is rather easy. Though in my experience you will almost never use one of the 2.
Having said that, a dual boot might be a good way to prevent distractions when trying to study or something. Just make sure the study OS is a pain to shutdown and doesn't have access to a lot of things that could distract you

99 You can archive the same with separate users though except it won't really emulate the annoyance of having to wait for an os to shutdown and another to load which are actually a good thing for a setup like that.

48 I've considered switching myself, but I run into the same issues as erindalc, with the incompatible programs that I have no choice but to use if I want to be able to do some of my school work at home, rather than staying late to use ancient school computers to do it.
