But if I had the necessary know-how, I'd write a bot that would have its own forum account and would update the OP of its own GvE thread whenever it resets.

I'd might even have it keep track of what the actual count is, for those times when so much ninjaing happens that the humans lose count. I'd have to make some heuristics for when people mistype numbers, though, and probably have some way of amending your posts if the bot counts it wrong, though...
