Good Specs for FTB

I am planning to buy a new PC soon optimized for FTB Unleashed at around $600. I wondered if you could recommend any specs to me that I should go with to get around 50+ fps on Unleashed. I am looking at:

Intel Core i5 3470
8gb Ram
1 tb Hard Drive
Nvidia GT 640 graphics

I'll be playing other games smaller games that aren't resource intensive and I figured I'd slowly be upgrading it but I'd like a basic starting point to be able to play FTB

Your FPS is dependent on events that aren't controlled by the HW, so tailoring a system to that requirement is not realistic.

4 cores but not any benefit of hyperthreading.

If it was me and my system, the most I could spend on CPU and mobo is where you get the best bang for buck.

I run an 8 core w/ hyper threading for 16, 32gb RAM, and SSD.

I bolt the "PC" to a sheet of plexiglass. No case. (save $) I don't bother with any peripheral I don't need.

Optical drives may not be necessary. The next big ticket item is GPU. there I look for clock speed, cache and in-die memory.

Linux window managers are not historically thrifty with CPU so I run Win7 and native drivers.

That'll shave off a bit more performance limitations as well.
