I'm looking for an economy configuration that won't be cutting into performance too great. Well I know this is weird that I'm asking for an economy machine and high performance but what I mean is getting most performance per dollar spent per month for the configuration. Alright as with anything to get the best bangs for your bucks you need to know what's I'm intend on using it for right? Alright so the whole goal is a least laggy server I can get while still doing extremes like putting up 20+ Soulshard spawners and still be able to play on the server and allowing 10 players to consume about 200 forced loaded chunks per (that the average usage without restrictions only intend to have a "fair usage" policy on them). Other cool crazy things like putting up enough coal coke ovens to keep a server powered solely of coal coke and creosote is a cool idea that I wanna do and all the HP boilers we'll need. Then powering like a warehouse housing a 1000's of industrial centrifuges and 100's of industrial electrolyers fully automated yep by a one Huge AE system. Oh and a CPU that won't care about Quantum Chesteplate Armoured people flying around and loading a ton and half chunks (or maybe it's may of been the SSD made the CPU goes haywire). Oh and the server planned to be 8GB so hopefully that's enough ram for 10 including Linux (that the OS I heard that consume least ram per GB of dedicated ram)
Okay so here what's I knew/gathered of the internet
Minecraft is single core and able to use two threads so would a very good dual core do or should I just try to get a single core and run Everything on a single core? What's versions would work the best for cores I should get along with the threads? Goal here is to reduce the cores and threads count to avoid extra expense of them being unused.
According to the hardware thread a 10k IOPs SSD should work for large servers so would one of those work all okay or pay a little more for like a 12k or so? Or would getting a faster IOPs configuration just waste more money than it's offer in performance?
According again to that thread a 1.6k Mhz is all you'll ever need and that's have to overclocked so I'm guessing just go with 1,333 DDR3 8GB ram? For latency should I try for a LC8 or just settle for a LC9?
Alright lastly should I get a 100mb/s port or try for a bigger pipeline? If the host limits Bandwidth how much monthly bandwidth should I get? I want to make sure my players can players can play for a long time, while having good connection.
Thanks for reading this and hopefully get good suggestions to meets me needs.
