Me and 2 friends have recently gotten into FTB Unleashed. Currently, my computer is used to host the server, and for me to play FTB Unleashed at the same time. Having a new computer, this is not an issue, except that I can't leave it up all the time, meaning sometimes when they wish to play they can't. Also, it uses extra electricity when I leave it up for extended periods of time, especially when I'm not playing myself. I have looked into creeperhost.net, and like their $10/month package, except that seemingly overnight the price has risen to ~$18/month! I am only willing to pay a maximum of around $10/month, due to the use the server will get. Are there any good hosts/packages that are available that anyone would recommend that would be in that price range, and would provide a non-laggy FTB server? The package I last looked at on creeperhost.net provided 1.5Gb of RAM, and obviously you wouldn't want any less for a FTB server...

Yes, let me know if you find any host that'll work, and I'll do the same if I find one

For a FTB server you pretty much not going to get anything good for under $14 a month. Quality dedicated servers and some features cost money such as dedicated IP and off site backups.

Okay obviously they are lying about their specifications, it said on the Minecraft server plan page this
"Intel Xeon E5 CPU paired with Samsung Solid State Drives brings Maximum Performance"
But look here https://www.gforceservers.com/clients/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=31

I hate when hosts do this. We display our EXACT hardware specifications and data center location right on the homepage of our site so customers know what the hell they are getting.

I heard FragNet is good, and reading that I did a few months ago made them sound amazing

Been there done that.. Although their prices just dropped to a flat $10 a GB when you order 2 or more GBs. Their support is pretty stupid like "oh which server is it?" really you can't look into what server it is instead sounding like your stupid?

I am currently on FragNet with the 2GB package.

Not the cheapest, but man, best Minecraft host I have ever been with.

We meet again Harvest88 on the host argument :p

We are running Monster, with few more mods added on top of that - Tall Doors, Mekanism, TrainCraft and Ars Magica 2.

We're usually 4-5 players online at a time, and never went beyond 25ms / tick - which is awesome.

Just one tip though, as I did have a problem with it. Tell support to increase your PermGen from the default 64MB to 256MB, and you'll have one happy Monster server running.

On a plus side, every FragNet MC server has McMyAdmin enabled absolutely free, which is great tool for backups, configs and general server housekeeping.

Yes, FragNet servers do look good, but I can't/am not willing to pay over ~$10/month, especially because my friends aren't playing nonstop, only a decent amount.

As someone said earlier, I don't think you'll find any FTB capable host for any less.

I mean, you might, but they'll probably be crap, and be better off hosting it yourself.

Yea that's the problem, was hoping that there was an option that would work.

The only problem with this reasoning is that even though you and your friends aren't playing nonstop...the host still has to have your server running non-stop. They have the pay the electricity bill for your server 24/7, as well as all of the other expenses they have as a host (wages, etc). So, even if you do manage to find something in the price you are looking for, I can guarantee you that it's going to be very subpar for what you want, and support will most likely be non existant (unless of course you find someone who takes pity on you and provides you service at a discount...which isn't unknown to happen).

I have considered this already, that's why I was asking, because I know that I won't have many options.
