Golems disapears?

Made myself a couple of flesh golems and sat them to work at my farm. When i went out to look how they where doing, they where gone....lost my cores and upgrades too. can they be kille by mobs maybe?

I had one killed by a lightning strike but afaik mobs don't consider them a valid target. I have had them wander off and get stuck somewhere quite a long way from where they should have been.

maybe, I believe they can die from other things, as I've had some of them disappear aswell.
what I noticed is that it happened everytime after I did some infusion crafting that caused lightning strikes... maybe they died from that

There are a couple of things that can happen to golems.

#1: they can get stuck wandering after a fallen item. This happens sometimes, and you'll find the golems off the side of a cliff.

#2: They can be killed by mobs. This happens a lot if you have something like Mo' Creatures installed, since the predators will try and eat the golems at every chance they get.

#3: If this is on a server, there are some server plugins that will cause golems to spawn lower than usual, with the end result being golems falling through the world. I don't know which plugin this is, however.

Yeah usually I find the cause for this is my golems wandering off to get an item droped from a random mob that died in the daylight and then falling down a hole or getting stuck.

the best way to fix this is to specify what items your golems can pick up so, eq. if it's working on a wheat farm then make him only pick up wheat and seeds

Mind you that this only happens when there are no players around, and a chunk loader is active. (Occurs with both Railcraft and Chicken Chunks chunk loaders.)

Yeah it seems hostile mobs will target golems so it's probably a reguler mob, I've encased my golems in a room and had no problems

Hecate's apparently find golem's incredibly tasty. They slaughter then at every chance

Slight update to my post, yup Hecates find Golems almost irresistible (and are capable of bypassing normal mob-stopper walls), I was losing golems fairly often up until I put Cleetus and Dannyboy on patrol, Adv Thaumium Golems with Guard core, Water upgrade, Air upgrade and Earth upgrade (probably should have been 2x Air though), also have Visor\Plating\Mace\launcher and Fez.
